Metals are Crystals

The crystals below are single and polycrystalline. A crystal model is highly ordered. It is important to note that metals are made up of crystals.

There are many types of crystal structures found in nature which are the building blocks of metals and other materials. The animation below shows how a unit cell structure is built up to a lattice.
